If you own an Apple watch, you can use it to extend the learning functionality of iStackz of your iPhone.
Discreetly omnipresent content
The purpose of the watch app is to carry a short list of cards with you for frequent exposure during the normal daily activities. This is useful e.g. when learning a set of words for the next language class, or otherwise focusing on a set of words to master. Intended merely as an unstructured learning activity, no testing or classification takes place with the watch - systematic testing of the gained knowledge will take place with the iOS app.
Stackz watch app functionality
The watch app holds a list of cards that can be scrolled through with the 'next' button (forward), or the watch crown (forward and backward).
When scrolling, card attributes are uncovered according to the learn skill that was active when downloading the cards from the Stackz iOS app.
Stackz watch complications
With the Stackz complications, the watch will display each card for one minute directly on the watch face - omnipresent, but still discreet. The circular and corner complications will present only the attribute(s) of the first uncover step (typically a Japanese kanji), rectangular complications will display the attributes of the first three uncover steps at once.
In any case, tapping on the displayed text on the watch face opens the card in the watch app.
Downloading wordlists to the watch
There are 3 ways to download card list from Stackz iOS to watch app:
1) Entire stacks: long press, then 'send to watch'
2) Cards in card list view: navigation bar command top right 'Send to watch'
3) Current learn dialog card list: long press on round green button, 'Send learn deck to watch'
The watch plays a success sound upon reception of the cards.
It may take a moment for the complications to refresh to the new list.
