Apple watch faces for Stackz

Apple watch faces for Stackz

Learning Japanese with the apple watch

Simply displaying a Japanese kanji on the watch face for a certain time is probably the most obvious case to use the smart watch for learning Japanese. At every glimpse on the watch, the kanji is silently representing a challenge to be solved, either simply thinking about it, or even practice writing. Stackz replaces the kanji every minute with the next one in the downloaded list.

Display kanji only

Below are three examples where the iStackz complication is used to display some kanji only. Technically, this simply displays the text of the card's first uncover step, which is typically a kanji. Tapping on the kanji opens the iStackz watch app to uncover all texts of the current card. The display progresses to the next card every minute, as indicated with the progress ring in some cases.

Note - when accessing this page here with an iPhone, you can directly add these watch face configurations to your apple watch using the download links!

General Apple watch complication support

The above configurations are only examples. You can create your own customizations easily! To do this, a general understanding is helpful.

Stackz uses the complications for four different purposes:

Challenge - display the text of the card's first uncover step, typically a kanji.
Answer - display the solution of the challenge (the texts of all uncover steps except the first one).
Card - display all the card texts at once, by emphasizing the first one.
Text - display all texts of the card in lines.

The Apple watch faces on the other hand allow customizations with four different kinds of customizations: circular, rectangular, corner and inline complications.

Stackz allows using the Apple watch complications for the purposes indicated in the table below.
