New Feature: Print Preview
The PC versions of Stackz are continuously improved! The latest addition is print preview, a feature useful to check the content to be printed before wasting paper in the case of errors. When selecting print preview from a menu, the standard Stackz view with lessons and colored stacks is replaced with a 1:1 view of the print output.Â
If the fonts of the attribute languagess are not convenient for your printing purpose, they can easily be changed in the file options while print preview is active.
The first approach is to select a different font of a Stackz language, which will change the font of all attributes representing that lanaguage. Since the language-to-font mapping is stored in the installation and not the file, this will be persistent in your installation, so you must re-set the previous font for that language after printing if your intention was to change the font only for printing.
Alternatively, you can use a different language for the card attributes. For example, you can define a Stackz language 'Printing Japanese', having a font optimized for your printing preferences, and then apply that language to the Japanese card attributes in the file options dialogs before printing. The change will be automatically reverted if you close the file after printing without saving.
Both approaches of changing fonts for printing have always been available with Stackz, but with the new print preview feature it is much easier to uderstand what is going on.
A new feature however is to correctly handle the paper size and orientations defined in the print setup dialog.
Print preview is available in all Stackz Editions (Dictionary, Standard, and even the free List Editor), in version 8.0.7.
