While in Stackz" 7 beta 4, the Windows task bar (at least in Windows XP SP2, in my hardware) disappears, no matter your task bar configuration (that is, "always visible", "auto hide"), and does not appear unless you switch to another program or press the Start button in your keyboard (the one with the Windows logo).

Is this a bug or a feature to keep you focused in your study?

While trying to troubleshoot the video bug in the test dialog (see the corresponding post), I switched my monitor from DVI-D to VGA (D-Sub) several times to see if it helps; it did not help, but oddly enough, after returning to DVI-D, the Windows task bar problem is gone. Will report more on this as I keep reviewing my lists...

I'm afraid I don't understand your point... are you saying that the windows task bar disappears because of Stackz!?   :o

Yes, it does hide. The problem came back again after a restart. Let me show ya:

First, I make sure that my taskbar is configured to be always visible and that it is not set to hide automatically (Sorry... my XP is in Spanish, but you get the point)

Then, I open Stackz! 7 Beta 4...

And Voil?! The taskbar is gone.

I tried hovering the mouse over the lowest part of the screen to see if it comes up, but it doesn't.

The only way to make the taskbar show again is to hit the Start button in my keyboard, or have any another program active:

But when I make Stackz! the current window again, the taskbar goes away again.

I guess this must be a feature to hide everything else you might be doing from your view and thus help you concentrate on your studies... Now, if that was not your intention, I have other two XP PCs at home, and I can test on them.

Sorry, it was my mistake. Or as a ThinkGeek T-shirt puts it, PEBKAC = Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair.

Here's what happened:

The former version of Stackz! opened in a relatively small screen, so I had to maximize it.

The new version occupies all my screen (Yes, all the 1280x1024) when I open it, so I incorrectly assumed that it was already maximized, and didn't pay any attention to the window buttons. Well, it was not maximized. "Maximizing" the Stackz! window (which in fact makes it smaller), solves the problem.

I guess someone with a bigger screen size (in pixels) could not possibly commit this kind of mistake.

Ok, mistery solved... Now how do I erase this thread?

Good to hear that it's solved, and big thanks for this detailed report. I leave it in for a moment, maybe somebody was interested in the solution. And it serves as a very good example how to explain things properly.
