During a test, I started to edit an entry, and when done I by mistake pressed the Undo-button instead of the Edit-button to save my changes (I'm surprised that hasn't happened more often since they're so close to each other). What happened then was that my changes to the current entry got lost and the previous word came back, but still in the edit-mode. Not a big problem so far, but for the new word only the first field was shown (as normal during test-mode, but this was still edit-mode), so when exiting edit-mode that entry got saved without any of the other fields and all information got lost.
Also, it would be great if you could add keyboard shortcuts for the editing. Ctrl-E or something. And while on the subject, allow saving with Ctrl-S in the Edit Stack-window.

Hey all, Just noticed that the alpha version is up for folks to test.  I am happy to hear that other functionalities with the example sentences (like adding to entries) are on the horizon.  I'll let you know what I think!

I have an interesting problem. I maintain a core file that contains the vocab I am learning / have learnt. The file has about 2000 entries in it in perhaps 20 lessons.

Now stackz 2007 loads fine and deals with most files but if I try to open this core file than stackz will simply close itself. I have tried resetting the stats on the file in 2006 but the same problem occurs when I try opening the reset file.

Very strange. Any ideas? (don't really want to attach the file given its content but happy to email)

G'day,

I see that the readme doesn't say anything support for Vista but I tried it anyway. It crashes soon after the splash screen is displayed. I tried using Win XP SP2 compatibility, running as admin and disabling desktop composition but none helped.

2006 dictionary edition works fine.

Regards,
Steven.

Install to a folder on your desktop. Install "just for me". Run as a regular user. It worked for me.
I upgraded to Vista yesterday and soon discovered that my most important program could not save anything in the usual place under C:\Program Files\etc. I moved the folder that I wanted to save to, to somewhere under my username's control. For example, the desktop. The "public" area also works. I like Vista, but there will be a few adjustments needed.

Thanks for this information!

I moved my development to Vista after the Vista bug report. The latest build works fine on my Vista, even when installed normally. I will release the beta very soon, I hope it will run with all Vista setups out there...

(using Vista, as explained above)
I like to close toolbars, for the cleanest, simplest appearance.
'07 is not remembering to keep them closed.

P.S.: PLEASE do NOT let your software become a GUI Frankenstein monster like that other brand is, in my opinion.
P.P.S.: I would be a paying customer of yours right now, but your shopping utility would not accept my hotmail email address. Everyone else has, lately. I just recieved New Practical Chinese Reader, purchased over the Internet, and I was hoping to use your program with it.

Chris

Stackz 07 will have a completely new GUI with dockable dialogs. All the dialog states, as well as the toolbar states, will be remembered across sessions.

...eeehrm what is a GUI Frankenstein monster? :o Of course we don't intend to create one!

Payment: Do you have a PayPal account? I can send you a PayPal payment invitation if you order directly by mail (info@stackz.com). I hope Share-it will accept PayPal as well some day...

Im using vista.

When i try edite wordlist it only show entry. Reading and translation is empty. 06 Works correct.

Any thoughts about the bug I mentioned a month or so back?

Nick

@NickC  No, sorry I don't have any idea. If you send me the file I will be happy to quickly have a look and fix the issue, so that it will work in the first beta version that is soon to be released.
