Loading times on stackz 2007 are far slower than stackz 2006.

I have a 12000 files stack and editing it with 2006 version takes seconds, but with 2007 it takes a couple minutes... can you check this???

Thanks

Also, there is a bug while writing in hiragana in the search box of the edit option, sonetimes you have to double write a consonant in order to be writen, homeru turns to be omeru so you have to press h key twice in order to be written properly.

I would like to have an option to choose the search box language. Cause if you are adding new files the last langauge used remains in the search box, so you have to change it continously, or use the hiragana key. But, what about if you are not writing in japanese???

Thanks again

I will try to find the reason for the changed loading time.
Edit: I can't confirm slower loading times with the new version. You seem to have many strange problems that do not exist for other users... what PC configuration do you have? How much RAM do you have?

I can not confirm your problem with the hiragana input, it works all fine on my pc and nbody else ever complained before...

I don't understand your last point, please explain in more details...

I mean havin an option to choose what language do you want to use in the search box. In file options there is attribute 1, 2, 3 and 4. so i mean to have the possibility to change the search box language too. The search box is the one in edit option, used to look for a word  into a determined stack.

If you look for a word and is not inside and you add it, for example:
iku (kanji), iku (hiragana), to go(english)

once i write this, my search box language is changed into english, and i want to continue searching in japanese, this is very annoying when you are trying to add a bunch of words into a stack, checking if they are already inside the stack or not.

About the charging speed, is not my computers fault as stackz 2006 works fast. Anyway is an AMD Sempron 3200 with 512 ram, more than enough to run this software.

Thanks for your answer

strange. But please understand that even in this case you should create one message ("reply") per issue. Please avoid mixing several issues in one reply. In fact, the sublect "loading times" is not really appropriate for two of the three issues in this discussion.

Sorry I'm not sure I understand.
Are you complaining that the language can't be selected? It can!
Or are you complaining that the selected language is reset if you close the edit dialog?

Is the speed only slower with your huge file or with all files?

just the big one.

How??? Are you talking about the hiragana and romaji keys next to the search box? i think that is not useful, as the hiragana written like this cant be turned into kanji.

I'm not complaining, i just don't understand why search box language turns into the last language you used, so u have to change it again to search another word. For example:

i want to search if the word iku is inside my stack(i search in kanji)

Imagine that the word is not into the stack, then i add it.
First column: iku (kanji)
Second column: iku (hiragana)
Third column: to go (english)

So i added iku into my stack, now i want to search in the same stackz if seikatsu is into, then i write seikatsu into the search box, but no kanji is shown, is written in romaji cause language changed.

I hope you can understand it this time... is really annoying if you have 2000 words and you want to check if they are already into a stack.

I found the missing characters bug, it only appears if you are using a language different than japanese and the romaji key pressed, then if you write in the search box, sometimes the first consonant is not written and you must double click it in order to write it. writing komaru writes omaru...

Thanks again

I would do that if i could, i can only rename a old topic opened by me, and wite into it...

This is the message that appears in the bottom of the main page, due to this i cant open new topics.

PD2: Pocket stackz is amazing, congratulations. It can even open that big file a couple minutes faster than my pc...

Then it is most likely a memory issue. We don't load large files more slowly than small ones... :-) Please note that your file is VERY big - there are quite famous programs who simply crash with large documents, fortunately Stackz is stable, but unfortunately becomes slow. I am quite sure that a machine with more memory should handle the file faster...

No, the 'select font' button....

'the language changed' - I guess you are referring to the keyboard (Japanese IME), and not the Stackz language!? Then this means you have assigned the Jpn Hiragana IME to the Stackz language of the first attribute, and a different keyboard to the language of the attribute which you edit last - so that the keyboard is left with the non-Japanese IME?

I confirm that the search box does not activate the keyboard that is assigned to the language of the currently selected attribute with the 'select font' button. Yes, that is a bug indeed! Thanks for pointing this out!

There is a quite simple workaround: try leaving your edit activity with a field that has the japanese hiragana IME activated: use shift-tab in the end to move back to an earlier column which will activate it. Then it will be active when you enter the next search text.

Yes I know but I have no clue why. Is that with all PCs? Have you tried creating a different account to check?

I simply say that if you can do this (complicated) step once, you can also do it twice, or as many times as you have individual things to mention. It would be much appreciated if each topic could be handled in an individual thread - I can easily move the threads around, once they are created. But I can't split the content of one message into several messages easily.
