iStackz (Stackz for iOS) / iPhone development status
Last post by Chris - January 15, 2010, 08:30:40 AM
This is just a short status about the "Stackz for iPhone" development.

Development progress is quite slow due to lack of time, but we are more and more convinced that iStackz will be great!

At the moment, we can copy Stackz files from the mac to the iPhone and view the content there - in fact copying the files was quite a challenge with the iPhone platform! Adding the real Stackz features will be less tricky from a technical point of view, but finding the right balance of useable tools for this device will not be trivial either.

A couple of things must be added before the first minimal version will be available in AppStore. It's hard to indicate a release date because many unknowns are included in the timeplan, but we are positive that the release will not be in the far future (whatever this may mean  ;) )

This has nothing to do with your list!
Adding the lists takes some time, and I did not find a moment to do it. I hope to do it soon!

I sent a file with Katakana-Words last month (22.11.).
Katakana -> German

But it got never on your page. Is there a reason, why?

My license was indeed lost when my laptop crashed. I felt like supporting your project and buy a new one, but as you said I could also ask you for my old one.

I don't understand why you need to buy "a new license" - if you had an old old license, it should still work! Remember that our licenses won't expire, they are valid for all future versions of Stackz!

If you lost your license during the crash, send us a mail where you identify yourself and we'll send you your original license key again.

Thank you for your quick answer! My mail programme is able to send all the unlocked files, but not the locked ones. But since that won't be a problem with a new license, I will simply buy a new one.  :)

Frohen Nikolaus!

If you don't have a license, the files are locked after some time. This is to remember that using Stackz without license is only permitted for the trial phase, not for a longer time. (Nevertheless, you can unlock the files even without license - but it will reset the learning statistics in your file...) So if you have a license, simply enter the license code and they will become unlocked.

The mail issue is probably not related to Stackz, but to your operating system and its settings...

General Discussion / szm-files locked
Last post by Nora - December 05, 2009, 11:19:38 PM
Hello everyone.

My old notebook crashed and I had to buy a new one. Since Stackz is a part of my daily routine, I installed the newest version (not the dictionary version). Surprisingly, I can open old files without any problems, but the new files I created appear with a lock. I also wasn't able to send the new files via e-mail, since they aren't visible for my mail programme. They're not visible when I visit the folder, either. Is this due to my new system (Windows 7), or could it be related to the fact that I'm using the trial version?

Thanks
Nora

Please note that the Match Dialog only accepts successful matches if all the entries are selected for the first time - otherwise one could try and error until a lucky match occurs. Maybe that clears the situation, or are you referring to a different issue?

I've recently started using the 'Match' feature to drill my Japanese vocab with irregularly low success ratios.  This works fine in a file I created recently, but in an older vocab file of mine it doesn't report successes correctly.  Upon selecting the three matching attributes on a large number of words it highlights red, indicating a failure even though I know it is correct.

I'm guessing this is caused by some corruption in my Stackz file!?  But I don't know how to go about detecting that corruption, or fixing it.  Viewing the vocab list doesn't show anything particularly out-of-place.

Anyone experience this or suggest some kind of way to clean up my Stackz file I'd love to hear it!
