February 15, 2008, 06:25:45 AM
I want to use a graphics pad and pen stylus to write the Characters.

Sorry for the long delay, but I have been unavailable for a few months.  Just loaded RC6 dictionary and it appears that the problem with simplified Chinese is fixed.

With Beta 6 I was finally able to run Stackz 07.  I have discovered a problem on my machine with Chinese simplified that is crashing the program.  To Duplicate it I do the following:

start program

Select Stackz Options from the Options Menu
Select Chinese simplified under language tab and the program crashes with the error message:

Microsoft Visual C++  Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: ...software\Stackz 07 Beta 6 - Dictionary Edition\Stackz.exe

abnormal program termination

If you choose Chinese simplified directly from the Options menu drop down list or from the language selector drop down list the Chinese simplified files work, but if you then try to open the Stackz Options menu the program crashes in the same way.

I tried to duplicate it with Chinese Traditional, Japanese, and Korean and they all seem to work correctly.  I don't have any other languages installed so I didn't try them.

The program is terrific.  Thanks for your work!

Bugs fixed / Re: BUG: terminate it in an unusual way
August 12, 2007, 04:46:07 AM
I just removed beta 5 and installed beta 6 and it now opens fine.  I will start experimenting with this version and see how it works on my machine.  I already like the look and some of the new features that I have tried so far.  I am getting some dictionary errors, but will make sure that I have the paths and settings are correct and see what happens.  Thanks for all of your work.

I have removed beta 4 and tried Beta 5a and the problem still persists on my machine.

I just uninstalled Beta 3 and installed Beta 4 and the "terminate it in an unusual way ..." error still persists.  I hope you can resolve this as I am looking forward to seeing version 7.

Thanks for all you do.

Bugs fixed / Error on start up
June 09, 2007, 01:10:08 AM
I removed all versions of Stackz 7 and downloaded beta 3 of the dictionary  version.  I still get the same error as before each time I try to start it.  I have tried to used the shift key with no change.  The only difference with beta 3 and beta 1 is that it takes a lot longer (15 seconds) for the error to pop up.  I don't know if this means it is getting farther in the boot up process or if it is insignificant.

Help.

I posted more in detail about this on the "crash on start up" list, but this is exactly the same problem I am having.

Bugs fixed / Re: Crash on startup

It happens to me every time I try to start up.  I have a screen shot of the error and a Dr Watson log file if you think that would be helpful.

The program begins to start and then an error box appears with

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
[red circle with X in it] Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\MindDat...

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way,
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

[button with OK in it]

When you click the button the next error box appears which says that Stackz has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Options for the debugger are included at the bottom of the message.

Close the debugger box and the program terminates the start up.

Using the shift key does not solve the problem for me.
