Title: Display issues in tests.
Post by: Alex on October 09, 2007, 02:14:01 AM
I am trying to get Pocket Stackz to work on my WM5 device. I have a chinese font installed (SimHei) in your fonts directory and when I look at the entries list the mandarin entries are missing (for the Mandarin Windows Demo). When I edit the hanzi characters are correctly displayed. I found the same problem when I added my own list but the issue was that the pinyin characters wouldn't display but the hanzi characters would.

I have tried modifying the font entry settings for ZYSong, SimSum, NSimSun and none of these make any difference. Any help would be much appreciated.

(Device is HTC Hermes/Orange M3100). I am trying to get this working for simplified chinese.

Many thanks in advance.

Just an update in case anyone was facing the same issue. The problem was with CE-Star (2.8r3a) being installed on my PDA. It makes changes to the system fonts (in the registry) supporting european (extended latin) characters which means that they wouldn't display properly.

Solution was to uninstall CE-Star.
