The beta test phase runs very well, there are many people testing the new version, and that's really great! We want to thank to everybody who posts a comment, bug report, wish or any other thought. Hearing from the users is very motivating for us.
We have noticed an increased workload in maintaining the forum recently. Many of you write very good reports, others might improve their postings with a very little effort. If you are not sure, please consider the following rules when posting a message:
- Please stay on topic in your message.
If you mix several statement types in your message, it gets a bit difficult for us to follow up everything correctly. Please decide if you want to post a new bug, a bug or fix confirmation, a new feature suggestion or just a general comment before posting, and choose the appropriate board. Write a second, third, etc message if you have more to say, we want to hear it all! ;)
- Requests for new features should generally not go to the Beta test board.
There is a general board for new features. Only if your wish is directly linked to a new feature that is part of the test, then it's OK to discuss the not yet completely finished functionality there. Sure we'll add new features if possible, but if we don't focus on testing the new functions we will never finish...
- If you have a bug, please double check if it has been reported before.
If in doubt if it's really the same bug, add the message to the existing bug thread. This keeps the threads at a minimum (splitting messages is easy, joining does not seem to work here). Otherwise, create a new bug thread with a name that identifies the bug clearly. You should read the existing messages before posting a bug, but thereby you also learn how to write good reports because of the many good examples by experienced testers who are reporting in this board.
Most important rule: Keep posting! Please don't feel that your postings are not welcome if you don't respect those rules anytime. There is always a reason why not to follow a rule, and we are happy to hear from you anyways. The rules should serve as guildeline in the normal cases, they help to minimize our workload and increase the chance that your concern is not hidden somewhere in a corner but rather correctly processed.
