ok, I got it working, it turned out that after I installed 2007, it created a empty fonts folder on the memory stick and the japanese fonts were broken until I copied my own version of msgothic into it, both 2006 and 2007 work now.

I wonder why the install refused to copy new fonts even after reinstalling 2006?

Do you remember whether PocketStackz was running while installing the new version?

Thanks,
Konstantin

Hello, I have a suggestion. What about a random mode like in the desktop version. It's a drag to always have the cards sorted by the current color mode.

or even a way to take all the cards in the known stack and move them to the middle stack without effecting their success rate. one great thing about having them start in the middle, is all the cards that you've tried get moved to the right or left stack and if you need to quit early, you can resume the stack in the middle without having to retry the entire lesson. when the cards all start in known, the cards you get correct still stay in the same stack that you are testing.

Hello,

I've been using the new Beta 1 of PocketStackz for some weeks now. In the beginning everthing was fine, however, since last week the programm doesn't save my changes anymore, even if I use the File/Save dialog. I thought it was because I did not have enough free memory, but that is not the problem, because there are 20 MB free.  ???

Whithout the save funktion, however, the programm is useless on my pda, because I have got some 2000 vocabulary words I'm studying....

Best wishes,

Udin

Hi Konstantine,

Thanks for your openness to suggestions!  That is what makes Stackz so great.  I recommend it to everyone!

In addition to the quick edit button and showing all the attributes in edit mode, I'm also hoping you'll address the font issues when it comes to the main display - as you could probably see from my videos, all kanji fonts are not created equal when it comes to small fonts on a pocket PC.  If I can't have a different font for the main display, I don't think I can make use of the new version because I can use the stroke orders font with it (well, at least until I have all the stroke orders mastered).  By the way, was this font on storage actually a feature of the previous version of Pocket Stackz?  When I rolled back because of the font display issue, I left the font in the folder on my storage card and it still was showing up in Pocket Stackz.  If it wasn't already a feature, my Pocket PC must have a mind of its own.

I'm also hoping you will make the text selectable when in test mode - this seems like it would be fairly easy to implement and I can't think of a reason why it would negatively affect users who have no need of copying...

Anyhow, can't want to see the final version of PocketStackz 2007/8 when it is done!

I want to buy this just so I can use Stackz with it:

It's a cool device!

I could not find whether it supports touch screen and stylus.
If not, it can be difficult to use PocketStackz on such device.
PocketStackz was not really designed to be controlled by a keyboard.

Konstantin

It definitely does  ;)  http://www.htc.com/product/03-product_x7501.htm (Here's the English version, instead of the Japanese)

Will it be possible to use the sliders in the new pocketpc version, to choose which colors I want to learn, like in the PC version?
