I would like to import Unicode files generated from Microsoft VBScript.  Unfortunately VBScript can only generate ASCII or Unicode files, not Unicode UTF-8 files.  Is there any way to import these VBScript Unicode files.

I use VBScript to read an Excel spreadsheet and create the files.  The spreadsheet has my personal layout of words I'm learning, and I am attempting to convert it to a Stackz format acceptable for import.  I've tried various Stackz settings on the import, such as Unicode and other various codepages.  None seems to import correctly.

There are other ways of reading Excel and writing the import files, such as using Microsoft's .Net tools, where the encoding is more precise.  But VBScript is very easy to use and is preferred.

I've attached an example file.  Thanks for any help.

Stackz - Solved Issues / Importing from file: Lesson name

When importing a lesson from a file, I would like the name of the lesson default to the file's name.  Then I don't have to change the lesson name.

Stackz - Solved Issues / Application Error and Program Terminates
« on: May 08, 2006, 04:44:29 AM »
I get and application error (memory reference error) and the program terminates on a import with the wizard to a new file.  But I believe I have found the problem, or at least a work around.

It appears that there must be at least one lesson, before one is imported with the wizard.  I originally removed the default "Lesson 1" as I didn't want it.  Then used the import wizard.  The error occurred at the Finish of the wizard.

Leaving the default lesson in the file and then importing works.  I now know to delete the empty lesson after the first import.
